The TransJam Group in partnership with National Road Operating and Constructing Company Limited (NROCC) and the Forestry Department organized its annual Labour Day tree planting initiative on May 17, 2025. The event took place near the Hill Run ramps in St Catherine, where over 900 ornamental trees, featuring pink, yellow and white pouis were planted.
At TransJam Highways, we are dedicated to environmental stewardship, implementing sustainable practices and launching initiatives that promote eco-friendliness and conservation, reflecting our commitment to corporate responsibility. We are aware this Labour Day project has a long-term impact on the environment by contributing greatly to soil conservation through prevention of soil erosion. This initiative will also play a role in combating climate change by enhancing air quality through pollutant absorption and oxygen production.
Our tree planting project not only benefits our environment but also served as an excellent opportunity for the team to come together, fostering teamwork and camaraderie. In addition to promoting social cohesion, it provided educational opportunities for participants to learn about environmental conservation and sustainable practices.
We look forward to continuing our efforts in building a sustainable future and exploring new ways to make a positive impact on our environment and community.
