KINGSTON, JAMAICA: TransJamaican Highway Limited (TJH) has confirmed that they will commence full operations of the May Pen to Williamsfield segment of the East-West highway on December 27, 2025. This new corridor becomes the fifth major roadway operated under the TransJam Highways network, which currently includes the Portmore, Spanish Town, Vineyards, and May Pen toll plazas.
A New Standard of Service for Motorists
Managing Director of TJH, Ivan Anderson, said the company is fully prepared to integrate the new leg into its existing network, ensuring the same high-quality experience that drivers have come to expect.
“Motorists using this new section can look forward to a first-world roadway supported by 24-hour patrols and consistent maintenance,” Anderson said. “Our commitment is to deliver a safe, reliable and efficient driving experience across all five legs of the TransJam Highways network.”
Toll Structure and Discounts Effective December 27
To deliver these services sustainably, TJH will introduce a toll rate structure at both the Main Line and Ramp Toll Plazas at Toll Gate beginning on December 27. In keeping with current practices across all TransJam Highways toll plazas, T-Tag users will benefit from lower rates as well as automatic rewards through the Frequent User Discounts Programme, including:
- Free 10th trip through each toll plaza (weekly)
- 10% discount on trips 11 and onwards through each toll plaza (weekly)

Safety Concerns Prompt Urgent Appeal to Motorists
Addressing growing safety concerns, Colin Murray, Chief Operating Officer of the TransJam Group, noted an increase in speeding incidents at the toll plazas along the new roadway.
“The speeds at which some motorists are approaching the toll plazas in the vicinity of Toll Gate are extremely dangerous,” Murray said. “We have already seen several serious accidents, including collisions with toll booths and other vehicles. Drivers must slow to 50 km/h or less when approaching the booths. This protects not only their own lives, but also our staff and fellow highway users.”
TJH also announced that it will work closely with the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) to ensure police presence at critical points along the roadway as operations commence, helping to enforce safe driving and proper maneuvering through toll areas.
